A Letter From Me To You

I am writing to thank you. You have no idea of the impact that you have on my life everyday. I know it may be hard to understand now, my son, but you make me who I am. Your smile lightens up my days, and your laugh makes me confident.

You teach me to take my time, and enjoy life's beauties. When you were born, you made me soft. My heart smiles at every other child I come across, as they would all remind me of you. Whenever I am in a hurry to just run to the store, you teach me to slow down and take in everything around me. You show me the pretty birds, the crazy bugs, and you ask me THOUSANDS of questions about the statues, murals and signs right here in our community. You open my eyes!

Before you were born, I was a teenager running wild with no purposes. I never saw the importance of life. I didn't think I even knew what life was or what it meant to me. Now baby, I live for you. Now I am responsible for someone else other than ME. Thank you for being the beautiful, amazing, polite little boy you are everyday and making my job a piece of strawberry cake with sprinkles on top!

A poem from me to you:

Your smell never fades, it is always so pure
when I wake up in the morning, I know that's my baby for sure
all over my pillows and jumping on my bed
to falling on the floor and bumping your head
your tears are my weakness, it kills me inside
so I rush to your aid and wipe your eyes
I will always be here for you
like you've been for me
tonight ill be holding you tight
Love, Mommy
